Improper shutdown of computer - When you shutdown your computer you should always use the Operating System to do so. Lets take Windows for example. If you want to shutdown a Windows XP Home computer you would choose START > SHUTDOWN (Turn Off) and this would shut it down gracefully. If you just pull the plug, or hold the power button in to shut the computer off, you run the risk of corrupting Windows system files which are needed to run the computer.
